I have installed the Chord Scale Generator but I can't start it?
In order to run the Chord Scale Generator you need to have a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed on your computer. The minimum version required is 6 (internal version number 1.6.0). Here you can download the current version of the JRE for free:
Why is there no version of the Chord Scale Generator for Mac OS X?
Because of compatibility problems between Eclipse 3.4.1 (the software platform the Chord Scale Generator
is built on) and the required Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.6 on Mac OS X, a version of the
Chord Scale Generator for Mac OS X is currently not available. However, by changing to
Eclipse 3.5 (which will be released in summer 2009) these problems should be solved and a
version of the Chord Scale Generator for Mac OS X should soon be available.

Why do I only buy an activation key?
You can dowload the Chord Scale Generator for free and are allowed to use the
test version as long as you want. However, the test version allows only a limited range of operations.
In order to activate the full version of the Chord Scale Generator with the the whole range of
operations you need an activation key that you can buy on this website.
The purchase of an activation key means not the purchase of the software (which you could
already download) but the possibility to activate the full version.
Note: In order to activate the full version of the Chord Scale Generator
on the computer you want to use it on, you need to have internet access for a short time.
What does the abbreviation 1.x stand for?
Currently, you can download the Chord Scale Generator in version 1.1. However, the activation
key which you can purchase on this website is also valid for all minor releases that might be developed
in the future (such as 1.2, 1.3, ...). New minor releases will be made accessible via (automatical)
program updates.
However, if any major releases (such as 2.0, 3.0, ...) should be developed, a small upgrade fee might
be charged.
